Google Voice now understands Indian dialects and accents!

Most of the Indian mobile users have a tough time asking for something to their personal mobile voice assistant due to their Indian accent. Thanks to Google, they will not have the problem henceforth as the company has added support for Indian dialects and accents to Google Voice.
From asking Google where you can watch the latest movie to finding out cricket scores at the touch of a button, Google is there to help you get the answers you need. We’re delighted to showcase the improvements we’ve made to Search for Indian users today. These features demonstrate Google’s commitment to India and to continually improving Indian users’ search experience.
said Sandeep Menon, Head of Marketing, Google India.
Google said that it has worked with over 700 volunteers in India and collected spoken utterances to create the specific language models which power English voice search in the Indian accent. The voice search is available to Android phones running version 2.3 or above, iOS devices like iPhones and iPads and Windows computers through Chrome browser.
To access Voice Search, go to Settings within the Google search app, select Voice>Language> choose English > English (India). You can also use your voice to power your typing in an email or an SMS. If you are an Android user, you can set up Google voice typing under your phone’s Settings > Language and Input > and choosing Google voice typing.

How to update the Google Play Store app on your Android device the easy way, no APK download necessary

Google will update the Play Store app from time to time, and since it’s not an app that is found in the actual Play Store, there hasn’t been a known way to grab the update other than downloading an APK and installing it over your current version. Now that is fairly easy, and in most cases pretty safe, but there is an even easier way to get the update. You won’t have to download a special APK or do anything crazy. I think you will be surprised at just how simple it really is, and I was shocked when Jason Howell recently mentioned it on the All About Android podcast. So hit the break to find out how.

The first thing you want to do is open the Play Store App and tap on the hamburger (three line) icon at the top left to open the list of options. You want to select “Settings” from this slide out menu.

Once you are in the “Settings” screen, scroll all the way down and you will see “Build Version. ” All you have to do is tap on it. If there is a new version, you will then get a popup telling you a new version will be installed. Just tap “OK.” The update might take a few minutes to take.

You can go back into settings and you should see a new build number. In this case, I updated from 4.6.17 to 4.8.20. Now when you tap on the “Build Version” number, you should get a popup telling you that the “Google Play Store is up to date.”

That’s all there is too it. Pretty simple right?

Recover Deleted Data from Formatted Partitions, External Drives, Memory Cards

You are in a middle of a very important work and suddenly your laptop computer fails to boot or you deleted your project folder by mistake and your lose all your weeks of hard work in a snap. Don’t panic there is still ways to retrieve lost data.

Nowadays there are many data recovery softwares that will help you to recover data you have accidentally deleted from your laptop or external hard drive, or photos stored in memory cards of your camera. But they are expensive and out of reach for many. But here is a tool from EaseUS which is free for up to 2GB and is powerful.

EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard

This free data recovery software has 3 modes that help you retrieve all lost files

1.    Deleted File Recovery – Recover lost images, videos and documents from PC/Laptop, any hard drives, USBs, Memory Cards, Digital Cameras and other storage media.

2.    Complete Recovery – Recover critical system data due to formatting, system re-installation, power-off, virus attack, inaccessible/raw partition etc.

3.    Partition Recovery – Recover file sectors and other data from deleted, formatted, inaccessible, partition lost, system restore etc.

Unlike most free data recovery tools where there is a chance some of the recovered data might be missing, EaseUS does a really good job of getting back lost files. I tested the tool by copying few different types of files in my USB drive, memory card, hard drive and then deleted them.

Then I launched EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard free, and choose the module  suitable for USB device data recovery. The choice would “Partition Recovery” when files get deleted or corrupted from an USB partition.

On the next screen we can choose the type for files we want to recover. I chose the types I deliberately deleted. Next, we have to choose the drive or the device from which the files got deleted and want them to be scanned, so the tool can star searching lost USB partitions to recover.

After scanning is complete it will show file-folder tree where it previews the files that were deleted before you can recover. Once we choose the files and proceed to the next step, it will run the retrieval tool and attempt to get back those deleted files. In most cases there will be 100% success. In case, I got back all my files with no issues of data corruption. I suggest you give it a try.

Everyone faces these issues once in a while where they lost important data stored on their computer. Hence people should protect themselves from losing data during a unforeseen PC disaster or in a lost and stolen incident.
